Do they realize they extinguished the light he tried to shine?

And most importantly, when he rises from the dead in the planet’s hour of need… will hope return with him? The Batman of Metropolis? The image above shouldn’t be foreign to any Batman fan, but keep in mind, the image of the Dark Knight perched over Metropolis is most certainly not par for the course.
